I fished Big Sur some years ago and had a blast. About 12 miles upstream there is a hot spring worth hiking to. Don't ride your mountain bike or the ranger will get upset (don't ask me how I know that). My buddy and I saw one land-locked steelhead. I'd love to fish that river again some day.
