I fished almost directly under Hwy 101 on the 5th of Aug and caught the most beautiful 26-28" trout I've ever seen. You can only fish on weekends until Oct.

Excellent information on the Nacimiento River Stomp. I didn't know about the $15 pass. Thanks for the info.

The lower Nacimiento river is stocked with trout throughout the year, on camp roberts. You have to buy a annual fishing pass for $15, from the army; It's Worth it. I only fished in Nacimiento Lake one time, a few years back. I caught 5 white bass, all of them were nice size. I used a fatboy lure (one of my favorite) and fished at the far end of the narrows. In the upper nacimiento river, it's unstocked water, and the native trout don't get that big, but they're there. You can fish from the roadside, above fort hunter liggett.
