Spent the day (6AM-3PM) here on 11/4. Trolled, cast lures and bait...not even a bite at the suggested "hot" spots.

Of the several boats that docked while we were wrapping things up for the day, I only saw a handful of crappie and a couple trout.

From the algae bloom, I think the lake is turning. It's also INCREDIBLY low!!!

The Reliable DVM....VERY TOUGH LAKE TO FISH BECAUSE IT IS HUGE (FOR SOCAL STANDARDS) AND VERY DEEP.HAVING SAID THAT THERE ARE SOME MONSTER BASS THAT ANGLERS ARE PULLING OUT ON A DAILY BASIS. BRING A FINDER IF YOU HAVE ONE. RIGHT NOW THE BASS ARE ABOUT 30-40FT DOWN. USE ROBOWORM BLUEGILL COLOR ON A DROP SHOT. TRY ALL COVES IF THAT FAILS GO TO THE EAST DAM AND THROW SENKOS DARK WATERMELON COLORS. THIS LAKE WILL PRODUCE BUT THE BITE DOES COME AND GO AKA THE FISH HAVE A LOT OF PLACES TO GO. THE WATER IS CRYSTAL CLEAR AND ON A CALM MORNING YOU MAY NOT EVEN NEED YOUR FINDER TO SEE THE FISH:)THE WEATHER IS HOT AND THE BASS ARE OUT!MORNINGS ARE BEST WITH POPPER REST OF DAY THE SOFT PLASTICS ARE YOUR BEST BET. YOU CAN FIND A GUIDE ON THE INTERNET FOR GUARANTEED CATCHES.

Fished DVL on 3/24 and caught 2 nice bass, lost 2. Many fish on beds in shallows. 14 fish total for our party boat, with 6 in 4-5lb range. Used purple rubber worms, Texas rigged, with a painfully slow retrieve. Excellent day.

Jeff, The average size trout is between 1-5 pounds. I have pulled a 8.4 out of there in August using a swimbait at the east Dam. The average size bass is a nice lil' football 2-5 lb with lots over 5lbs. I always catch at least 1 over 5. Stay between 25-40 feet using a depth finder and finesse fish. All colors are hot right now!!

There are Big Fish in the Lake. Fish at areas with groth(trees) coming up above water line. Small fish hide and Bass lie in wait to eat them.Use worms with Billy B's bass Bait bean dip.

Caught a 5 pound trout today and limited out on 2 to 3 pounders at D.v.l. using powerbait. The bite didn't start until about 2:30pm and kept on till closing.I caught so many trout I was able to pick and choose my take home and let the others go for next time.I swear I couldn't get two lines in the water at once before one would get slammed. My tip is use light line 2-4lb test.Makes the fight more fun too.

Thanks for the report Nick. I'm not sure about the best place near Diamond Valley for big fish. Hopefully someone can chime in and give a good suggestion.
