Fishing Reports for Skinner Lakelogin to add a report
Got there around 7. No bite! Went to diamond valley around 10
STRIPER BITE: is very good in the spring and will keep up all the way untill winter. Early morning is best with either a jerkbait or topwater lure. Go to the inlet or search for the boils. Try Rapala X-raps (hot steel)and Z-spooks (silver/black) Fast jerks or pop's with pause. IF that does not work then they are not biting go back to the marina and buy some bait and get the bait down to the bottom.
BASS BITE: In the winter fishing is very tough. Swimbait's are your best bet after trout stocking.Spring is the best time to fish Skinner. Try drop shot right in front of the toellies with ROBO's (morning dawn)or Senko's (watermelon)black flake)Summer will bring grass, alot of grass and SPRO frogs acroos the top will bring some really explosive strikes. The early morning bite is best and the bite will turn off at 10am approx. Fall is similar to spring with topwater bite too. I have done very well at Skinner and enjoy low number of boats. However the speed limit is 10mph and they are kracking down on speeders,so beware. Skinner has become very aggresive about stopping the spread of the zebra mussle and has become a drag to get in and out of the lake. My addvise would be clean your boat and live well very well before going, boaters should do anyway. Remember Skinner is has super clear water. STEALTH IS THE KEY.

I to have been seeking the striped bass at skinner for a bit no luck yet. As for the TROUT try trolling small rebels that look like small browns. Most trips we have limmited. So keep on fishen!
Was there last weekend. The striper bite is outstanding and my friend Cho Luan caught what we believe to a fresh water or land-locked marlin. It was about 16 lbs. We sent the pictures to Rich Morada at am640 radio.
Great fishing
Yeah, I know what you mean. Use a fish finder around the bouy lines at the dam and spillway. We have caught a lot of small ones on chicken livers. Yeah, bait. I have also trollesd and thrown plastics. Gotta find the fish, as they chase the shad.
I have fished Skinner 4 or 5 times and never caught a thing. Never even got a decent "bite" in all those visits. I consider myself to be a pretty good fisherman. What is the secret to catching stripers there, please? I always read of people catching stripers. But, I never actually see anyone catch anything! Thanks.
