fished wed. 2/3/2010,near boulder creek.No fish,no followers.Water looks good,but nothing!!!Been fishing the same area for 13 years...
San Lorenzo - aka - Mudville - Nice to see water in the river (albeit, chocolate thunder). Get rid of these storms and we might actually have fish in the system. :)
Fished on Wednesday above the dam. No fish to be had. Didn't see a single fish roll in 3 hours. Saw a few juveniles following my lures, but that was it.
Tried the SL again but this time down where it hits the ocean. Saw a really nice Steelie swim by, but I wasn't geared up right at that moment and could not get to it afterwards.
I'd love to have some "spot" recommendations.

Tried the SL again on Monday 1/15, but no luck at all. Water was clear and running well, but didn't see any fish at all (not even minows). Talked to a guy that had caught a steelie the previous week. No idea if true or now.
Well, I tried on Wednesday last week after the rain and the water was too muddy. No bites at all.
I am hitting SL Saturday. first timer
I'm going to give the SL a try on Wednesday. Fly fishing only. Starting from the ocean and going up to Felton (driving mostly).
This River is very Complicated. As I grew up in Seattle., Washington, we had many coastal rivers filled with salmon, Cutthroat, and Steelhead. When I moved down here, the regs say you can only fish on Wednesdays, and Weekends. My opinion is that it's a bad river as far as the all the rules, like Barbless hooks, and no bait. Always Check the Regs! Check out Ernies Tackle Shop Website. Try to google it, and you'll find some Info.
Can anybody give me a report on steelhead fishing for december 2006? Also, is it legal to keep one hatchery fish caught out of the San Lorenzo River near Felton?
Can anyone tell me where on the SL is good right now? Any insight, please help. Thanks
I enjoy fishing for steelhead it would be great if we could keep what we catch but there isn't enough of them I cought about a 8 Pound fish 20 inches long I had a great time and look foward to it again.
I had a 10 pound steelhead trout on my fishing pool and I reeled it up it was a beutiful looking fish.
I caught a 28 inch steelhead about 9 pounds. I was useing roe. I saw a shadow that was moving in the rappeds i casted out and got nothin he folowed it in and swam right back out. I casted back out annnnd wham fish on i thought he was going to snap my line. He went behind some weeds so i had to cross the river. It took about a half hour to get him or should i say her in.
River s/b excellent this wknd! And you can actually use (gasp) roe! Or crawlers, etc... It's been pretty crowded lately though.
