Fishing Reports for Salmon Creeklogin to add a report
Btw, Gino look in to the BC steel line of spoons, They were made by a company that got bought up 15 years ago and i dont remember who now but i used to be able to get them in platings that ranged from black oxide to true 24 carat gold and did great in rivers up in bc and the deschutes and smith and the prices were about the same as the lil cleo(I bought them in bulk(10-50 of each finish) and still have some left and they are my favorite steelhead toys
Thanks Gino, I fished it once or twice but evidently not good enough lol. There is still a bunch of spots and places that can be great once you show up and learn. I had a few similar encounters on other streams within fifty miles or so headin thru usually up to the smith area
Gino,
Thanks for the kind information. I have driven over the bridge in the winter many times and seen guys(maybe you ?) fishing below the bridge. I always wondered if it was worth giving it a try. To amend your post, not only is it good karma but its the law - you CANNOT harvest steelhead from Salmon Creek.
Maybe I'll see you out there ?

Guess im the first one here.Salmon Creek is hot if you know what I do.What I do know is that Salmon are almost gone frome there. However! If you are a steelhead fan I got good news for you.I shouldn't be giving up my life long exp.about this place but what the hell. Here it is Boys and Gals.2 bad you can only fish from Hwy. 1 to the mouth of the creek aprox. 3/4 mi. I do good every year on the South side of the creek.Start at the Hwy 1 bridge and work West about 100 YDS. then fish your way back.Roe-Shrimp-Sardine or any other bait has never worked for me in all my years fishing there.I use a gold colered spoon.(CLEO)nothing else, ever. The trick is when to fish. You would think the first good rain would bring them up because the creek is very shallow and only a few miles long. These fish are late bloomers.Prime time is late Feb. thru Mar.I have caught hundreds in my 25 Yrs. fishing there.I credit my good luck to catch and release. They are native, please dont take them home.O.K. my seceret is out.Good luck Guys and Gals.
