CNH,
Freddie would like to ask you a question as he finds that your knowledge of the local area very helpful and unmatched. The Sonoma Creek is closed all year from Adobe to 121. Below is tidewater. When we call the Central Coast to find out about "adequate flows" and the recording tells us that the Napa is open and so on....it also tells us that the Sonoma Creek is open. Does that mean that it is open only above Adobe as it normally would be closed after Nov. 15? It's very easy to interpret the recording as saying that the entire creek is open because of "adequate flows". Thank you, Freddie the fisher

Al,

There basically are no options anymore for serious steelhead fishing in Sonoma Creek. Between the Highway 121 bridge(Carneros area) and the Adobe Canyon Road bridge(in Kenwood), the creek is closed to fishing all year. Below the Highway 121 bridge is considered tidewater and again, there is no steelhead fishing in areas which DFG considers a tidewater.

Anyone out there actually drive around and check out these little streams like Freddie? Wasn't too impressed with the opportunities for access. Freddie would greatly appreciate any info. :)
