Anyone fish the Eel today after the burst of rain? I drove from Eureka to Sonoma yeasterday after the rain. I passed over the Eel on Humboldt bay and it was still low and clear. The next crossing of the river was up and muddy so it was about to hit the mouth! Pretty cool! Any update would be great....more

We spent a wonderful sunny day this past Friday on the North end of the lake with David, the guide, and his blue bass boat. We were using 4-6" worms and a split shot about 12-16" above it. The guide caught two nice sized bass, one small mouth (5 lbs.) and one large (3-4 lbs.) right away within the first hour. Later we caught another 8 fish that were a mix of smallies and large mouth in the 10-15" range. It was a beautiful day and they were beautiful fish....the spawn should begin soon though....more
