I tried Salmon Lake on my way to Seeley about 8:30 am setting up a tip up and a jigging pole well south of the island mansion along a turn-off in the highway. Nothing...not a nibble or a tap...I have always seen fishermen at the far end of the lake towards Seeley, but figured the pike might be other places too...guess I was wrong...caught a few pike there last year, but now, nothing!

Salmon lake is near the town of seeley lake montana. At one point in its history it did house a large number of salmon. Now because of "bucket biology" and some other factors salmon are no more. The main fish caught at salmon lake is pike. Some trophy pike have come out of this lake.
