Went, there this weekend, Lots of really tiny perch, total dissapointment, long drive for itty bitty perch.

I ice-fished just out from the fishing access and had to drill 3 holes(each farther from shore) before my auger didn't bring up weeds from the bottom of the hole. Finally out about 150 yards I was able to find suitable water. it was getting dark so I only stayed about an hour, but my tip-ups were not bothered and I only conviced a single perch to bite my jig. The parking lot was un-plowed so I had to walk-in from the main road.

There aren't many bass but when you catch one it's going to be a pretty decent sized one. There a tons of perch in the lake. Most are pretty small but the quantity that you can catch makes up for it. I haven't done any fishing for pike but because there are perch in the lake I'm sure that there are at least a few pike in it too. the lake itself is very small and much of it is covered in lilly pads. It is along the edge of and in these lilly pads where the perch thrive. You can expect a lot of snags in these areas along with a lot of fish. The lake is a no wake zone but it is too small anyway for motors. You can use a trolling motor however which works pretty well on the lake. Upsata Lake has bathrooms, spaces for camping, and a boat launch. This lake is one of my favorites and a great place to recreate this summer.
