TO EBRAKER, MOST OF YOUR BEST BLUEBACK FISHING IS AROUND TURNIN DOWN BOAT RAMP, TROLL FORD FENDER WITH A SHORT SNELLED HOOK OR WEDDING RING AND A WORM 30 TO 40 FEET BEHIND THE BOAT WITH 1OZ OF WEIGHT, REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY KEEP 2, GOOD LUCK
Interested in Blueback fishing: New to Florence. what is typical terminal gear? What is the general technique? and where, in general, are the areas of the river to fish?
Shouldn't take long
Right, sunny boy, we'll tell you everything we know
Almost time for the Winter run of steelhead. Anyone see anything or hear anything.
We fished the incoming tide 10-7. landed one hen 37" and 30 lbs. Saw a few caught.
I was out all day on Wed. Caught 1 27#at about 8 am just after high tide. I was fishing the barge to Cushman line with a spinner mooching rig and brined plug cut blue herring.
Has anyone hit the water this week?
Hello Scott-
we intend to be on the water Thursday- Friday-Saturday while staying at the RV park- also enjoying the ChowderFest at Florence. Were you using plugs-Blue Foxes- or C/P herring? With or against the tide?-

Landed one. Tons of boats ours was the only chinook we saw. 34" Fished the incoming mostly.
hammered the incoming tide Wednesday as did about 124 other boats- they obviously were out for boatrides as weell- 'cause did not see 1 rod tip for over 6 hours.
Pounded the incoming tide. Saw one no take downs for us today.
Anything happening Sunday and Monday (8-26 and 8-27) 2007
Fished the incoming tide with plug cut herring today and had some luck. Got one real nice one to the boat but it rolled and the hooked popped. We need more experience netting. Had two other drive byes in the area just up river from the barges. My friend landed one by the Siuslaw Marina. We were fishing 6 & 8 oz cannonballs just off the bottom.

The Fall Chinook season should be starting right about now, I hear that some fish have been caught in the lower section. Anyone hear the same???
