Fishing Reports for Lewis River, North Forklogin to add a report
Here's what I just read from Noel Johnson over at LewisRiver.com:
"Lewis River: Closed for spring chinook, open for steelhead. Light effort and catch. Through June 8, a total of 1,022 hatchery adults had been collected for broodstock. The goal is 1,300 fish."

How's the north fork doing??? Any steelhead?
I just read some mixed reviews on the N. Fork over at lewisriver.com. From what I can tell the fishing isn't great but if you know the river you will probably do okay. I'll post anything else I hear.
Wow, these reports are really old. We need some new info. Here's what I've got. I think this fall Chinook are in. I hear the boats running up and down the river lately. Usually that's a good sign. I haven't heard much else but I'll report here when I do.
went fishing near cedar creak to 7:00 am to about 4:00 pm without a bite. I used salmon eggs and corkies.
I just came back froma trip to the north fork of the lewis and i caught 6 steelhead and hooked about twice that many. Sand shrimp are the way to go.
Thanks for the Lewis River report John and David. Winter steelhead are in!
winter steelhead are in the lower end of the north fork landed 2 12/18/04
I haven't had a chance to run down to the Lewis lately. I'll ask around and see how it's going. Or, better, I'll have a look myself!
How's boating on the Lewis River above the dam? I just bought an Alumaweld and I'm curious if any has experience boating the Lewis and can give me some advice.
anybody seen or heard of any winter steelhead in the lewis yet?
just got access for a moment today reports are comin in
No progress but I will check it out soon. Along those line, my neighbor showed me footage of a 30 foot waterfall tucked away back on the Kalama River side of the hill.
any progress on the beaver pond road?
No, you heard incorrectly. Jim was teaching Jeff and Jeff fainted.
now if I have the story correct from an eyewitness there were 3 hooked about equal size 2-3 pounds and I heard this jim guy fainted right there on the river bank
I'm thinking about getting a boat soon. Does anyone have advice about boating on the Lewis? I have no experience on rivers. Specifically, is the Lewis generally considered a dangerous river to learn to boat on?
Fished yesterday about 4 miles up from downtown Woodland on the south side of the river. I didn't have any luck but I saw a guy with a jack chinook. Very nice. The water is a lot higher than it was a month ago.
Fished above Swift Lake. Caught two 15 1/2 inch trout. Can you guess what streatch I was in? Okay, it was near Eagle Cliff bridge. I couldn't help looking over my shoulder wondering if Mt. St. Helens was going to blow.
