PS. don't bother taking a boat out on the weekends, seems the seems the enthusiast boater or whatever you want to call them have no respect for the sporter's.

Dropped a half of a redworm down to the bottom and two turns up of the reel at the Shoreline park dock around sunset in late September, 2006. A HUGE fish hit and pulled my line back under the dock the opposite way (behind me), and took quite a bit of my 8 lb-test line out, and didn't slow down. I tightened my drag jut a bit and fought it for a while, and my line snapped! I think it was a huge bass or a monster brownie.

We went out for 7 hours starting at dawn and only caught 1 12" Kokanee and a 5" bass while trolling everywhere we could without getting hit by waterskiers. I heard from an old timer this year is bad for the lake (no reason given).

The trout bite has gone done a ton! Wedding rings still work the best for me but only the green and orange ones. There are some monster perch in there and some good size bass. Happy fishing

WOW , this has to be told ! I caught a huge bass * lbs 5 oz. yesterday 4/09/2007. I was using a 6 inch purple worm fishing texas style over some weeds in12 feet of water when the monster struck. I was using 8 lb test Trilene xt and a shimano stella 2000. 6.5 ft graphite rod. What a fight! I am currently choosing a good taxidermist.

Fishing in this lake is great around the dock. I found the best success for schooling perch and trout by dropping a maggot or two on a #6 hook all the way to the bottom and reeling in about 4 inches of line. I LOVE going up to Washington just to fish American Lake!
