I dont like to fish the skajit river for salmon or steelhead, i like to fish for rainbow trout. most fish are from 8 to 16 inches bu i have caught fish from 17 to 20 and my biggest fish has been 22 inches. i use any sort of streamer fly.

For those of you planning a trip to the Skagit from out of town, be aware of the flooding waters. Today I checked out Young's bar and it was completely flooded up to the dike wall. It is supposed to crest tomorrow morning at 4am at about 31.5'. Monday I will be heading out to the Sauk and check things out. The steelhead should have moved up there by then through the high water....more
