Had the lake to myselfe! around 2:30 hooked a big bass but snaped my line when I went to grab him out of the water. I used a 4 inch red worm with black flakes.
I was out on Terrell Thursday may 22nd from 6:00pm- 8:30, caught 3 bass: a nice 7.5 pounder and 4 pounder right where the creek enters in the northwest corner of the lake. Along the west edge I reeled in a 2 pounder out of the grass. Caught the big one on a rubber mouse, and the other two on the 6 inch plastic worm.
Was out on Terrell Sunday may 18th from 5:30pm- 8:00, caught four bass, three around 2 pounds and one about 3 1/2. All were caught on a 6 inch plastic worm carolina rigged with no weight. I cast it around lily pads and let it sink to the bottom before pulling it up, letting it sink and repeating the prossess. Usually fish on the north shore accross from the dock.
I've always had luck fishing buzz baits along the lily pads and the reeds along the edges of the lake. Fishing plastics underneath the lily pads (carolina or texas rigs with little to no weights) and IN the reeds is fairly effective as well. If you find yourself limited to the docks, I suggest trekking to the far dock (not the boat launch ones) and carolina-rig jigging the side of the dock about 5 feet down with a nightcrawler. Or fish along the reeds for bigger sunperch, yellow perch, and a decent amount of trout and bass.
I took my boys out for a few hours in the evening in our small boat. We caught quite a few bluegill and redear sunfish, some perch, a bass and a bullhead. We had a good bite when we fished areas near lily pads with less weeds. The lake is shallow and completely full of weeds. We used nightcrawlers with bobbers.
Thanks so much Mark for the Terrell Lake info. You're the first one to report here. Every bit helps other people.
went out last Saturday and fished a few hours, found the lake to be very overgrown with weeds. Not much action until mid afternoon when we hooked into a couple large bass around 5 lbs. on the east side of the lake. We were fishing plastic worms, weedless of course.
